This was Bernadette's experience. Her whole life bore witness to this
message. Thousands of pilgrims from around the world, come every year
to St. Gildard, to receive this message.
At the beginning of the third millenium we have difficulty taking in this
simple message. Respect, dignity, solidarity, justice and a willingness
to share are threatened by our competitive society. To help us forge ahead
with a touch of humanity, Bernadette please lend us your clogs.

RELICS OF ST. BERNADETTE
The Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of Nevers would like to underline :
Since the year of Bernadette Soubirous' Canonisation, 1933, the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of Nevers has given relics in response to specific requests received from Bishops, Priests and others whose names are noted in a register.
The Congregation of
the Sisters of Charity of Nevers would like to stress that relics are
objects of veneration and they are not meant to be used for financial
gain.
" 1 - It is strictly forbidden to sell sacred relics." (Canon 1190).
Moreover the sale of relics is completely contrary to the Gospel message passed on by St. Bernadette. She always kept her distance from those who wanted to use her for profitable ends: " It irks me to accept money", and after the Apparitions; " as long as they do not become rich by it."
