1850 saw the beginning
of industralisation, the appearance of the steam engine, the era of
Victor Hugo , Delacroix, Rossini, Marx, Nietzsche, Buffalo Bill, Guizot,
Napoleon 111,
Schneider…
It was in the middle of the 19th century, that Bernadette, the eldest
daughter of the Soubirous family, was born to “the sound of
the stream, the creaking of the wheel,
the whispering of the corn and the noise of the millstone.”
“My father, the man with the beret covered in flour and a damned
good miller showed in his expression how proud he was to be a father…”
This is how Bernadette began her narrative.
The DVD, produced
by the Forges Workshop, brings to life Bernadette’s unique version
in the form of a narrative, in the first person. We become her witnesses,
almost the confidantes of her spiritual adventure. The visual and
sound illustration form the background to this narrative which takes
us from Lourdes to Nevers.
